Dear readers,
Thank you for sticking around. I have been very absent from my writing (and reading). I hope that some of you still continue to follow this year’s Year of Rereading Book Club. If you are behind, no stress; I am too.
Let’s wrap up what I have read so far.
I started the year strong by reading The Prophet and The Broken Wings by Kahlil Gibran. Even posted an article about them. After these books, it goes downhill. I have been reading Jane Eyre for months in the spring, loving every page but unfortunately finished later than expected. In the summer, I downgraded reading even more and focused on other hobbies.
Now, I am slowly picking up reading and hope to revive and continue this blog.
Yesterday, I finally finished The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. It has been such a long time since I read this story; I hardly remembered the ending. So, rereading and re-experiencing Bilbo’s tale was a delight. I think this is one of the most beautiful stories for children. A story about adventures, friendships, and a dragon. But also a story about courage, loyalty, and endurance.
In the months of Autumn, I will try to get through as many books from my Bookclub as I can, and actually write about them. My next reads will be Letters to a Young Poet by Rilke and The Lord of the Rings by Tolkien.

This review is part of the Year of Rereading Book Club. In 2026, we will (re)read modern classics and reflect on them in the comments. If you like to participate, check out the schedule and just start reading. If you have a StoryGraph account, you can find the reading challenge here.
