Language Learning Goals for 2023

The Limits of my Language mean the Limits of my World – Ludwig Wittgenstein

For 2022 I had no specific goals for language learning because I was not sure if I would have enough time to achieve them. Looking back on this decision I regret it because it lead to a disorganized learning routine and now I find it difficult to reflect on my progress. So, I made specific goals for the new year and I also want to do a mid-year reflection in June to see if I am going in the right direction.

Japanese

  • Finish 1/2 of ”Remembering the Kanji” Book 1
  • Reach level 15 on WaniKani
  • Unlock 1000 Kanjis in Kanji Garden
  • Learn all grammar from JLPT N4 (Bunpo app)
  • Read 3 books in Japanese
  • Achieve a Duolingo Streak of 1 year
  • Pass JLPT N4 exam

Korean

  • Finish all Duolingo Hangul lessons
  • Reach Unit 15 in Duolingo
  • Being able to read Hangul comfortably and have some basic vocabulary (500+ words)

Spanish

  • Read ”Cementario de Animales” by Stephen King
  • Reach Unit 30 in Duolingo
  • Finish 1/2 of ”Complete Spanish all in One” lessons

General Goals

  • Do a mid-year reflection on all goals
